Sanbornton Congregational Church is designated in the United Church of Christ as a Peace with Justice, Open and Affirming church. We care deeply about people within and beyond the church; all are truly welcome among us. We are committed to hospitality, faith-filled and creative worship services, strong Christian Education, and generous, hands-on outreach, all in the name of our wondrous God. We seek to serve as disciples of Jesus Christ in all that we say and do, as we build community and serve our neighbors. .We have wonderful Senior and Junior Choirs!

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our worship services follow a traditional Protestant Order of Worship, with 3 hymns from the UCC New Century Hymnal. The Senior Choir and Junior Choirs sing every Sunday. Our services include a Children's Message, a time when people may request specific prayers, and Scripture readings. Through a creative sermon, our pastor seeks to connect the Bible text(s) with our everyday living. In worship, we come together to express thanksgiving to God, sharing our joy and prayers.

What is the community like?
Friendly, welcoming, generous, hands-on type of congregation, active in outreach to the surrounding communities, inter-generational, open to new ideas and ways of doing God's work, ready to study and learn from Scripture, worship and fellowship essential to the sharing and deepening of our faith.

What if I'm not a Christian?
The UCC states: "Wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here." We welcome all seekers, along with your questions about our church and denomination. We are a Christian church and hope that you will be willing to discuss questions of faith and explore your own spirituality.
