  • The people were kind, but I felt a sense of trepidation. I could tell that they had ulterior motives and really wanted me to assent to their particular brand of theology. I am a lapsed Episcopalian and thought I'd try out another version of religion, but what was on offer here felt like the same old fire and brimstone shaming rebranded with "softer" contemporary feel. No thanks, won't be returning (they definitely wouldn't be open and affirming to my gay brother-in-law who has been happily with his partner for 30+ years).
