Providence Family Baptist Church

About Us

Raising up godly generations, Ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ

We are a Christ-centered Fellowship working to love and serve the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength.

We are in agreement with the Reformers' basic theological principles:
- "Sola Fide"
by faith alone;
- "Sola Scriptura"
through Scripture alone;
- "Solus Christus"
in Christ alone;
- "Sola Gratia"
by grace alone; and,
- "Soli Deo Gloria"
to the glory of God alone.

We believe that God, as the Creator of all things, is sovereign in all things, including salvation.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

What a great God we serve!

We feel that the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 is a good summary of our beliefs.

We're conservative, but we work hard at trying to live out the time-honored principles of Christian liberty.

"...with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:2-3

We use the New American Standard Bible - 1995 Update (NASB) in our services, but believe that the King James Version continues to have great value in the life of the modern Christian.

We have freedom in the choices we have of how we praise God in our music, but we especially value the great hymns of the Christian faith - which are all but lost in our modern culture.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services are held at a church that we rent "Refuge Church," at 2609 Larch Way, Lynnwood. Our service time is 4:00pm and generally lasts until 5:20 to 5:30. We pray, read Scripture, sing, and listen to God's Word preached for typically 45 to 55 minutes. We take no collection during the service, but make use of an offering box. After the service, we have a fellowship meal together, with people typically staying until 7:30 or 8:00pm, sometimes later.

What is the community like?
We are family-friendly and encourage parents to teach their children to sit quietly and learn to listen to the preaching and teaching and to join in the singing. It's our belief that children are able to learn far more than we give them credit for, and the questions that they have can be brought to the parents. We love to be together and we are active in each other's lives during the week. We love people and open our arms wide to all who enter our doors.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you're not a Christian, you are most welcome! We're not in fear of new people, and we don't think anyone would find us scary. We love people and we would love to introduce you to the Lord Jesus Christ, answer your questions, and walk together with you through your life.
