    Dr. Wesley Avram

    Dr. Wesley Avram (Wes) has served as Senior Pastor at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in North Scottsdale, Ariz., since 2009. Wes has served Presbyterian congregations in Bryn Mawr, Penn., and Wilmette, Ill., as College Chaplain and member of the faculty at Bates College, as the Clement–Muehl Assistant Professor of Communication at Yale Divinity School and Assistant Professor in Yale’s Institute for Sacred Music. He holds a bachelor degree and PhD from Northwestern University and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has also studied at the University of Sussex, The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, The Tantur Ecumenical Institute, and the University of Chicago. While in seminary, Wes was awarded the Roberts Preaching Prize and the Graduate Fellowship for Pulpit Ministry. Wes is the author of Where the Light Shines Through (Brazos, 2005) and Anxious About Empire (Brazos, 2004). He and his wife Lynne have two sons. When not chasing one’s soccer team or the other’s rock band, Wes enjoys movies, running, travel, and friends.
