Our Services

What are services like?
Our 9:00 Praise and Prayer service is short and informal; we sing some praise songs, hear a short meditation from the pastor, and pray together. Our worship service is fairly traditional. We sing hymns and contemporary praise songs. We have lots of musical talent. Our pastor's sermons are about 30 minutes; his emphasis is on helping us know and live in God's great love that He showed us when Jesus died for our sins. Attire on Sunday mornings ranges from jeans to suits.

What is the community like?
As a small church, we know each other well and we also love to welcome visitors. We have home groups that meet once a month for fellowship, food, prayer, and discussion. We pray for each other and help each other in times of difficulty. We have several cookouts every year. We love to celebrate graduations, special birthdays, and other occasions together.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you're not a Christian, you will be welcome in our community. We hope to get to know you, and we hope you'll be glad that you know us. We want you to know Jesus, too, and we'll be patient while you grow in your understanding of who He is.

What Members Say Add your voice

  • I first visited NPC with my husband about 6 years ago. I immediately sensed that God is loved and honored here. The pastor has a big heart for God's glory, God's Word, God's people, and God's missing sheep. It was easy to find places to contribute to the ministries at NPC, and it's a pleasure to worship and serve in this church family. When a member (or even someone that a member knows) experiences a crisis, the church members will look for ways to help. The music ministry is excellent for a small church; the choir director and accompanist teach music in the public schools, and several other members are experienced singers or instrumentalists.
  • Our children who are now responsible, contributing, and thoughtful adults grew up in this church with people who not only loved them as "kids" but took on the responsibility for their spiritual well-being. I thank God that as my husband and I went "church hunting" that God led us to NPC. Although we no longer live in Hampton, we continue to worship here because we continue to be cared for and to learn more of God's purpose for our lives.
  • The Lord led my family to NPC as we sought a church that was faithful to God's Word and His ongoing work in the world. The ministry opportunities at NPC are varied enough to appeal to the God-given talents of any who desire to serve. The congregation is small, but eagerly welcomes guests and new members find it very easy to settle in. I like the fact that NPC is a "come as you are" church. We are just a group of people thankful for life in Jesus Christ and desire the same for others.
