    Rev. Rob Walters

Rev. Robert Walters was appointed to Monticello United Methodist Church in September, 2011 by Bishop Scott Jones and district superintendent Mike Chamberlain. Prior to serving at Monticello, he served as associate pastor at Leawood's United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Prior to God calling him to ministry, Pastor Rob served as a public school band director for 10 years and as a police officer for a few years too. Pastor Rob received his bachelor degree in music education in 1995 from the University of Kansas, a Master of Music Education from the University of Kansas in 20011, and a Master of Divinity from the Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City in 2012. There, Pastor Rob was the first student to receive a specialization in prison ministry. He plans to pursue a doctor of ministry degree in the near future. Pastor Rob comes from a family of pastors. His uncle is a pastor in Washington and his grandfather, the Rev. Dr. Robert White, is a retired United Methodist pastor. Rob has a love for people, for the ministry of the church, for worship music of all types, and for mission and service especially to those on the margins. Pastor Rob is married to his wonderful wife, Renee, and has a teenage daughter, Michelle, as well as the newest addition to the family, Lizzy. Together, they share their home with a bird (Molly) and a beagle (Lucky). For fun, he enjoys spending time at the lake and referees college soccer. He hopes you will join us in church this weekend!!
