Lord of Life Lutheran Church

About Us

Be who you are. God's grace will meet you.

Originally began as an outreach to those stationed at Eielson AFB, the congregation has grown into a community church with many active and retired military. We do our best to be a place of life and hope for the community, welcoming to families and people from all different backgrounds.
We are part of the ELCA, give Communion to everyone who believes the meal is for them, hand out homemade jam to first-time guests, like to laugh and sing and explore together what living with faith is like in our world.
If nothing else, Lord of Life is a great place to hear a message of hope and forgiveness, life and strength for your lives. Join us Sundays at 10:30 in the morning.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship follows a specific order of gathering, word, meal, and sending. We are a laid-back and forgiving group, knowing God receives us as we are and does the work to transform our lives into the image of Christ. -Gathering invites us into God's presence with pure hearts as we offer confession for our sins and hear God's grace. We center ourselves in peace, song, and prayer. -Word is hearing God speak through Old Testament, Psalm, New Testament, and Gospel reading, through Children's message and a sermon with a song to reflect upon. -Meal invites us into God's presence as we speak aloud our faith, pray, and receive bread and wine that are the presence of Christ. -Sending orients us back to the world with announcements of ways to live out our faith, song, and blessing.

What is the community like?
Retirees, newbies, active and retired military members, teachers, construction workers, nurses, and mechanics - you'll find all of us here. The thing that unites us is our gratitude and love for God. Our mission statement: "God's word moves us to make connections by welcoming all, strengthening and serving the healthy and hurting." Welcome and hospitality is one of our most important values; you won't be a number here.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We all face questions and doubts. We all wonder where God is working and struggle to find where our faith meets life. Church is the place to ask those questions and struggle with those doubts. We believe God meets us where we're at, and our lives are constantly a work in progress. You will find a welcome as you seek to know God.
