What to Expect

What are services like?
On Wednesday evenings, we serve a delicious (truly delicious!) community dinner at the church from 6-7pm. Volunteers are needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean. As a volunteer, you get to eat the delicious food. If you simply want to eat, please come and feast! On Thursdays, we turn our sanctuary into a food pantry. We distribute groceries from the church from 4-7pm. We do not request anything in order to receive food, although it helps if you can provide us with some sort of ID so that we can spell your name correctly. Interested in volunteering? What is the community like?
We strive to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive community where we support one another and share what we have.

What if I'm not a Christian?
While the soup kitchen and food pantry are based out of a church it is a secular program - we do not discriminate based on age, race, sex, sexual orientation, gender presentation, religion (or lack thereof). The various different backgrounds of the people in Brooklyn help create a safe and helpful environment for everyone.
