    William Enns

Dr. William Enns comes to Hope Presbyterian Church after serving in ministry since his ordination in 1976. Bill is a native of California but grew up in the country of Ecuador where his parents were missionaries under the Evangelical Covenant Church of America. As part of a youth group he became involved in a ministry started by a Christian businessman to the Central Jail in Quito, Ecuador. One Sunday morning, when it was time for the message, the businessman turned to him and said, “Bill, it’s your turn to preach this morning.” That began a ministry that lasted for five years until graduation from high school required that he return to the United States. As Bill says, “I had a captive audience then, and I have been trying to find them ever since.” His ministry goal is to help people discover God’s unfolding purposes for them. He is a graduate of North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL; took doctoral studies at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA; and received his Doctor of Ministry degree in the Congregational Mission and Leadership program at Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, MN in May of 2007. Bill is married to Ruth (one of the best decisions he ever made) and they have three adult children and five grandchildren.
