I love that this church will thank our Heavenly Father for a lesson in remembering that as a church we represent Him . And it is expected that He is found here. The Lord has laid it upon my heart to bring this to your attention. In fall of 2000 my 4 children and I were going thru a difficult time. My brother took his own life and we moved from AL to pontotoc county near my best friend. One Sunday evening on our way home from troy community to cherry creek my battery cable had came loose and we ended up at your churches driveway just as the people were arriving for evening service. As a single mother I was teaching my pre teen and young teen 2 sons and 2 daughters that God can be found in the church. Your members arrived, no one stopped.. Not one member stopped to offer help. We had no choice but to wait there. Service ended and the people all left. No one stooped to offer help. One of my ever curious kids asked mama why...then an old guy pulled up and got out with a beer in his hand and offered assistance. I acceped, thanked him and we headed home. As we drove away my oldest daughter said, 'I thought God was at the church mama? 'I think I saw God in that guy.' Said My oldest . My younger son quickly jumped in before I could speak and said, 'God went to a different church tonite.' True story. .. Janet hodges. Alabama [email protected]
