About Us

A Church With No Walls - a "multi-cultural/economic/ethnic/racial" congregation!

Reaching out to unite ALL in God's love, we are an urban church with an extremely diverse congregation that worships together, side-by-side, following the example of Jesus Christ. In this special way, we are creating a slice of God's Kindgom on Earth!

What to Expect

What are services like?
What you won't find is a glitzy, high-tech, stage production; rather a very informal and Spirit led service, where people are not afraid to share their joys and concerns at any time. We have a "Sharing of the Peace" greeting during which everyone moves about the sanctuary to greet one another in God's name. We also sing a "Happy Birthday" song each week to honor those who may have no one else to recognize their special day. Our "Offertory" consists not only of the giving of monetary gifts, but also offerings of Bible verses or personal poetry readings and/or songs from those who may not have the monetary resources to give. We also have a "Jesus Jar" in which the homeless can deposit unsafe objects found on the streets in order to make their own contributions toward making the world a better place. Again, in our own special way, we give everyone the opportunity to participate and feel special.

What is the community like?
We have one of, if not the most, diverse congregations in Kansas City, ranging from jobless/homeless people who live in shelters or under bridges to successful business owners living in the suburbs. We are not afraid to welcome and sit side-by-side with someone different from ourselves, wanting all to know, feel, and share the love and hope of Christ.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Following Jesus' example, everyone is welcome at our church: believers and non-believers, the rich, the poor, the saved, the sinner, the addict, the prostitute, the widow, and the orphans. We hope you will see the love of Christ in our worship, in our congregation, and in our services to His people, and will consider learning more about Him and why we do what we do by joining us on Sunday. God Bless You!
