    Pastor Elree Canty

Pastor E. F. Canty was born in Kansas City, MO on September 4, 1981. He received his diploma from Raytown South High School and his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO. Pastor Canty believes education is an important tool used to strengthen the human mind to think outside the box to reach the peaks of greatness. The call of ministry came upon his life at a young age. In Sunday school class while learning the story of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness 40 days and nights, the Holy Spirit spoke to him. When Jesus read, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” it evoked purpose in his life. He began teaching his peers in Sunday school and Bible study. At 18 years of age, the Lord called him to preach. He was licensed on April of 2000 and was the first Youth Ministry of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Since then Pastor Canty has taught God’s Word throughout the greater Kansas City, MO area. He has implemented Bible studies and Christian education programs in several churches and was the Youth Pastor of Paseo Baptist Church during their interim period. In previous years, he has worked closely with various school districts to help at risk children improve academically in order to graduate. He is a mentor in the Penn Valley Pre-collegiate program and continues to speak throughout the community about education, crime and the Word of God. Pastor E. F. Canty hopes his service to Christ will inspire many after him to work harder, reach higher, think larger, do better and love God more and more with each passing minute.
