  • I sure experienced the joy of preaching in the two years I was privileged to serve as pastor for Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church. The congregation repeatedly said that they thought was was the most effective preacher they ever had experienced. We had fun times playing basketball and volleyball on the grounds of the church. Laurel and I enjoyed their support and love. e are in our 80s and are now retired. I spend time writing books for Parson's Porch Press. Laurel directs the choir, the bell choir, plays piano and organ at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Elmwood, Nebraska. We are grateful and thankful for the Lord sending us to serve the people of the Fort Chiswell church.
