Our Services

What are services like?
Whatever style of worship is chosen, it should be done WELL. Our services are traditional yet Spirit-filled. Outstanding musicians, a 60-voice choir, preaching with the bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other: each week we see as an opportunity to have our lives transformed into the image of incarnate Love.

What is the community like?
Straight, gay, white, black, young, old, ties and t-shirts, all are welcome. Our community welcomes all into its ministries of grace. We are active in myriad local and international organizations that work to be the face of compassion and healing in the world.

What if I'm not a Christian?
While the church is explicitly Christian, we have members and friends who are passionate about living the questions. Understanding that religion is not a set of creeds but rather a dance with others, with the Holy Spirit, with scripture and with ourselves, we welcome all people on their journey, hoping that all find First Plymouth a place of continual transformation.

George Anastos

George has been serving First Plymouth since July of 2005. A native of New England and a graduate of Yale Divinity School, he brings a passion for an inclusive congregation and a not so hidden love of the Red Sox (the congregation forgives him for this).
