What are services like?
At First Lutheran Church, we offer a variety of worship options each week to meet your needs. Sundays--September through May: During the school year months, we offer two Sunday morning worship services—8:30am and 10:45am. TLC classes for Pre-K through 6th grade are held from 9:30-10:30am. We encourage the congregation to join together for a time of fellowship between services in the Narthex. Coffee, juice and donut holes are served each week. Sundays--June through August: During the summer months, we offer one Sunday morning service at 9:30am followed by fellowship/coffee time. **Traditional worship (including Holy Communion) is held on 1st and 3rd weekends, while contemporary/praise services are held the 2nd and 4th weekends. Saturdays--A traditional worship service is held each Saturday nights at 5:30pm throughout the year. Holy Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. Wednesdays-- September through May: Activities for children Pre-K through 6th grade start at 2:30pm each Wednesday afternoon. From 2:30-5pm, children receive a healthy snack, have time for homework, and have TLC class. At 5:15pm, families are invited to attend the Wednesday Praise Worship, which is a shorter version of the previous Sunday worship and is led by our high school youth praise band. Following worship, families can come together for a light meal in the Fellowship Hall. Special Worship Services Mid-week services are held on Wednesday nights during Advent and Lent. Beginning on Ash Wednesday and continuing throughout Lent, the youth serve Youth-Sponsored Lenten Suppers in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00-6:15pm each Wednesday.
What is the community like?
The Family of Faith at First Lutheran Church includes more than 1,300 members of all ages and backgrounds. To meet the diverse needs of our families and their busy schedules, we hold multiple worship services during the week--both traditional and contemporary (Praise). At First Lutheran Church, we feel that social time between services brings the congregation together in the celebration of the grace of God. This is done year round and the entire congregation is welcome and encouraged to stay for fellowship. Coffee, juice and donut holes are served during this time in the Narthex.
