On Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 PM, Athens State University Religious Studies Honor Society (TAK) will be sponsoring a training for the prevention of child sexual abuse called Darkness to Light facilitated by Dr. Janet Dorning. Tuition for the training is $25 and includes training materials and a donation to the Limestone County Child Advocacy Center. Anyone who interacts with children in a home, community, or professional setting would benefit from this training. Please forward this message to those who may be interested. Education, Need-based scholarships are available to any students who cannot afford the $25. Proceeds will benefit the Limestone Child Advocacy CenterDarkness to Light's Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention training is an evidence-informed, adult-focused prevention training solution for parents, communities and youth-serving organizations. This training uses real people, real stories, and expert advice to show how to protect children from sexual abuse. In this two hour training you will learn practical guidance and skills to implement in your daily life to protect our children. Educate and empower yourself and other caregivers before abuse occurs and to improve our community response.
