First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bellingham is a place of welcome for everyone. With the beauty of the nature inspired sanctuary and the stained glass windows, your body will relax and your spirit will ease into worship instantly. The Family Area in the Sanctuary offers rocking chairs, quiet toys, coloring pages, and cuddly critters provided for wee ones and their grown-ups during worship. There you'll find a place of comfort, solace, and giggles. If you're feeling fidgety, meander over to this area of the sanctuary and make yourself at home.

The Disciples are a denomination where all are welcome. We are a "movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. We have no creeds and worship does not follow a traditional liturgy. Born on the American frontier in the 1800s, we continue to be influenced by our founding ideals of our unity in Christ with openness and diversity in practice and belief.

What are services like?
Our services are family friendly, lively, a combination of contemporary and traditional, reverent, fun, and like nothing you've ever experienced before. If you want to worship God in an atmosphere where all are welcome, the Spirit is constantly moving, humor is fully embraced, and the holy is found in both the sacred and the silly, this is your church.

What is the community like?
We are every man and every woman. We are old and young, straight and gay, and from many different backgrounds and creeds. Yet we all come together for one purpose... to follow in the footsteps of the one born in the stable so long ago, and to live as God calls us... To do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are most welcome. Come walk with us. Come join us on a journey of discovery as we learn together what it means to be Children of God. Come laugh with us, learn with us, and love with us. For God has called us to be one with one another and to care for this earth and her inhabitants with tenderness. We follow in the footsteps of the Christ, for we believe him to be the best revelation of God. But you are welcome to bring your understandings to our House of Love.
