About Us

Welcome to First Baptist Church of Palmetto!

Mission Driven:
Everything we do is driven by our mission.

Relevant Environments:
Our desire at Palmetto First Baptist is to create relevant environments for children and adults. To do this we must discover how to use culture to communicate what we need to say. Jesus modeled for us how to build a bridge relationally to turn on a light spiritually.

Strategic Service:
Applying our hearts and our hands to the place of greatest demand is strategic service. In order to continue to create excellent environments conducive to life change at FBCP, everyone needs to find a place of service.

Intimacy with God:
When we try to be religious, we tend to be polite and distant. If this is our routine with God, it will not encourage intimacy with Him. Intimacy in any relationship requires three things:
1) unrushed and unstructured time
2) transparency with our feelings and
3) mutual submission.

Biblical Authority:
We believe that the Bible is our instruction book from God. Even though no one likes having someone else tell them what to do, maximum freedom is found under the authority of the principles found in the Bible. Any time we try to operate parts of our lives outside of the authority of scripture, we lose freedom. As others watch us live under this authority, we demonstrate hope to those outside the church.

Relational Evangelism:
Relational Evangelism is investing in a friend for the sake of eternity and then inviting that friend to a safe environment. As long as we are investing in others, our hearts will stay in the right place.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The services here at First Baptist Church of Palmetto are filled with the Holy Spirit. The congregation takes an active part in the moving services led by powerful pastors who keep their pulse on the community and missions throughout the world.

What is the community like?
The congregation is very active. There are numerous small groups that meet for social and spiritual purposes. Those groups span from college-age young people to senior citizens. There are approximately a dozen Bible-study groups that meet before the 10:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday. The church sponsors an after-school program - King's Kids, as well as a preschool program - WEE World. There is also an active youth program.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is welcome to come to this church and find the path that will lead to salvation. Many of us allow it to pass us by without questioning what comes next after we die. The Bible teaches us four very basic truths we must understand and act upon to assure ourselves that we can go to Heaven when we die. First Truth: God Loves You! The Bible states that God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each of us. “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16 “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” - John 1:12 “This is love; not that we loved God, but hat He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” - 1 John 4:10 Second Truth: Man is Sinful! Man is sinful and therefore separated from God. He can neither experience God’s love directly or have a personal relationship with Him. “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” - Romans 3:10-12 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” - Romans 3:23 - “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 6:23 Third Truth: Jesus Christ! Jesus is God’s solution to the separation we experience from Him. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6 “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Fourth Truth: Our Part! We must accept God’s only solution to the problem of sin and separation. “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” - Ephesisans 2:8-9 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; it any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.” - Revelation 3:20 You can accept Jesus right now by praying: “Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and received You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.”
