First Baptist Church

At First Baptist Church we believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and is, therefore, the authoritative answer to the needs of man today. We take Paul's command to "Preach the Word!" very seriously. We try to preach in a way that seeks to understand the Word properly and apply it practically.

Our priority is to glorify God (1 Cor. 10:13). All other church goals fall under this one, over-arching goal. Our teaching, preaching, fellowship, and evangelism begins with God's will rather than man's needs. We do not embrace the church growth movement which places an emphasis on felt needs and entertainment to reach the unchurched. We believe the gospel in itself is the power of salvation. As believers, we are to be distinct from the world rather than mimic it. We gather together on Sunday to worship our Lord in spirit and truth. Therefore, the emphasis of our worship service, both in music and proclamation, is upon the great things God has revealed in Scripture.
