What people say about First Baptist Church

  • The pastor is threatening, and he has made threats on my life. He is unstable in my opinion. I was also told that he road a motorcycle for over a year with his son who I believe was 8 at the time without even a motorcycle permit.. Anyone who would endanger a child ought not to past or a church.

  • If there were a lower number, I would have selected it. I was in leadership at this church. The pastor won't get educated, but that's a small part of the problem. He claims to push his views on the high school where he is a wrestling coach. I WAS THREATENED AND KICKED OUT when I wouldn't do unethical things for him and the rest of the church leadership. This place is criminal, in my opinion, because their cash contributions don't line up on the balance sheet. The pastor threatened to punch me in the head. The chairman of the deacons at the time also made threats. Please stay away from this place. It's dangerous.

I can't name names; however, an email was sent that said that My family was removed, which was intended to cause emotional distress by the pastor and church leadership. We also have in writing that if they would give us an answer for removing me we would have grouds to sue. I believe I was dismissed just because I won't help the pastor with his unethical requests. They also threaten your entire family with harm if they think you might file a lawsuit.

Also, the pastor will almost always use others for dirty work. He threatened to punch me in the head so hard that I wouldn't ever get up.

  • First Baptist Church is not a non-denominational church. We are part of the Conservative Baptists of America organization, Southwest Church Organization. Our focus is on accepting and loving God and Christ. We do not specifically focus on people's sins as "we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23)
