Eureka Reformed Church
About Us
Our Worship
We seek to praise God by giving Him the honor in spirit and in truth.1 Our Lord has commanded us to worship Him as He has directed us, not how we might feel or think are appropriate ways.2 (1 John 4:24; 2 Deut. 5:8-10)
Our Belief
We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible Word of God.1 As everyone has a statement of their faith, written or not, ours is stated in the historic creeds, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession of Faith, and the Canons of Dort, which were written during the great revival known as the Reformation. We believe that all men have fallen into sin and are in need of God's salvation in the one substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross.2 We look forward to that great day when Christ will return to usher in the eternal kingdom.3 (1 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Rom. 5:8; 3 Rev. 22)
Our Government
We have a presbyterian form of government. The affairs of the church are governed by the minister, elders, and deacons1 in a consistory, while the spiritual concerns are watched over by the ministers and elders. The congregation is united with other congregations to form a regional body called a Classis and the Classes form the denomination the Reformed Church in the United States.2 (1 Phil.1:1; 2 Acts15)
