What are services like?
Emmanuel uses traditional liturgy in a very relaxed atmosphere. We are blessed to have a talented organist. Children are welcome and we have a play area in the back of the church. Everyone is welcome to our coffee hour that immediately follows our worship.
What is the community like?
We are a small congregation with a diverse membership from various backgrounds. We are welcoming. We evangelize by living to our baptismal covenant and loving all of God's creation.
What if I'm not a Christian?
You would be warmly received and welcomed to be with us.
I've lived from New York to California, and this is the friendliest, most welcoming church I've ever attended, anywhere.
Although small, I love Emmanuel's commitment to be a servant to the needs of the local community.
This church, situated in a popular vacation & resort area, really empathizes with travelers, visitors, vacationers, cruising sailors, and part-time town residents. There's complete understanding of folks who only come a few times a year, and everyone is happy to welcome a stranger who has never been in the church before. Nice!

Emmanuel is welcoming to all who come through its doors. In Cape Charles, a lovely bayside community of full time and part time residents, Emmanuel is a friendly and caring small congregation where I enjoy worship, friendship, and a sense of belonging even though I am "only" a regular visitor.

Emmanuel Church has become known as a super friendly church. Everyone is welcomed
with a friendly greeting and a smile. We are good singers and willingly learn new music with gusto. We do "make a joyful noise unto the Lord". We love children and know that if they make noise during the service it is a sign of a growing and vibrant congregation
even though it iis a small church.
