    James F. Miller

    Dr. James F. Miller, the son of the late Presiding Elder Roy L. Miller and the late Dr. Evelyn Davis Miller, is the Senior Pastor of DuPage AME Church, Lisle, Illinois. He has pastored three churches: Turner Memorial, Chicago; Greater St. Paul, Chicago and DuPage, Lisle, with an emphasis on personal spiritual growth and church evangelism. Since October 1989 he has led DuPage in increasing membership from 150 to nearly 2300 and in building a $5 million worship facility. Dr. Miller is the proud author of, Go Build A Church: Spiritual Administration for Growth and the accompanying workbook, 40 Days to Spiritual & Statistical Growth. His book has been republished by Pilgrim Press under the title Go Grow Your Church: Spiritual Leadership for African American Congregations and is in bookstores across the country. Dr. Miller serves as: 4th District Christian Education Director, member of the Chicago Conference Board of Trustees and Board of Examiners, the Finance Committee of the Chicago Conference, North District Statistician, and Chairman of the Board of R.E.A.C.H. Ministries (a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization). He has served as a member of the General Board, the Episcopal Committee of the AME Church and an Adjunct Professor at Wheaton College in Black Church History. He is a life member of the NAACP and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Miller earned his B.A. degree from Morris Brown College and his Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry, both from McCormick Theological Seminary. He is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the AME Church. He is married to the Rev. Lana Parks Miller and together they have four adult children; Rev. Morgan, Jimal (Riché), Ashley, and Preston; and two granddaughters, Peyton & Taylor.
