Mike Garner

Following four years in the US Navy, where he served as a Russian linguist, Mike completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Houston. He spent 35 years in the Information Technology industry, including 19 years with the Federal Reserve System. The FED moved the Garners to Richmond in 2002, where Mike worked on the staff of the national IT management team. After taking early retirement in 2003, and through an intense period of prayer and seeking God’s guidance, Mike was led to enroll as a student at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. He graduated in May, 2007 with a Master of Divinity degree. Since October, 2006, Mike has served as Pastor at Dover Baptist Church in Manakin-Sabot. This December, Mike and Kathy will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.
