Curwensville Presbyterian Church

About Us

Know Christ, Grow in Christ, Show Christ, & Speak of Christ

A conservative PCUSA congregation utilizing a blended worship service, with liturgy, various musical styles, and an emphasis upon scripture.
We exist in order to glorify God, to worship together, to spread the Word of Jesus Christ, and to keep all believers in close fellowship with one another. Our members express a wide range of lifestyles and personalities, each given different talents and/or gifts by God’s grace. Through these talents/gifts, God prepares us for works of service such as caring and teaching, and is using us in leading each of us in His service.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Sunday school, 9;30 a.m.; Worship starts at 10:55 a.m. with liturgy and then an organ prelude; opening focus upon exalting and praising God, then confession of our sin, assurance of pardon, greeting one another, children's message, scripture reading, sermon, and then various responses to the message, including prayer, offering, and more singing. The fifth Sunday we have leave most of the spoken liturgy out and focus upon singing. Both organ and piano play during hymns; choir sings from classical, to spirituals, to contemporary praise. Congregational songs include old-time hymns and contemporary praise.

What is the community like?
Friendly; supportive; caring. Most are educated and older.

What if I'm not a Christian?
All people are welcomed to worship with us, non-believers, different denominations, and religious persuasions. No one will confront, challenge, or seek to convert you on the spot. Instead, you will be welcomed and allowed freedom to feel God's presence among us.
