Church Project

About Us

Biblical. Simple. Relevant.

Church Project began with a mission to return to the essence of leading, gathering and living the way Christ and the early church intended. Our intent is to be unashamedly BIBLICAL, irreducibly SIMPLE, and understandably RELEVANT to all.

We live on mission to Make Disciples.Meet Needs.Grow Churches.
We pursue our mission through Sunday Gatherings.House Church.Ministry Partnerships.
We hold tightly to our values of being Biblical.Simple.Relevant.

We are a CHURCH - a group of hundreds of people who love Christ, each other, and Christ's mission in this world.
We are a PROJECT - a continual pursuit of becoming who God originally intended us & church to be.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We love Jesus, and we like Him too. We don't try to cover Him up or change Him to make Him more attractive. Our hope is to know Him more and reveal Him for Who He really is. We are not ashamed of Him, we expose Him. We gather weekly in services to worship, study Scripture, encourage one another, and share our resources for eternal purposes. We aim for our gatherings to mirror Christ’s teachings, and to look like the early church looked when they gathered- simple, intimate, authentic, and straight-forward. Our teaching is Scriptural. We study through books of the Bible. We believe that the Spirit of God speaks through the Scriptures of God. Our role in teaching is to uncover and reveal the truths already contained in Scripture. We do not add to the Scriptures. Nor do we apologize for the truths they contain by omitting truth, or repackaging it to be more tolerable. We strive to teach the Scriptures as Christ and the apostles taught- speaking the whole truth in love.

What is the community like?
The church we read about in Scripture lived incredible, powerful, intimate community. We think they did a great job, and we want to follow their model of meeting together. They addressed their gatherings to "the church who met in ____'s house", so we call ours HOUSE CHURCH. They met together young and old, so we meet together CROSS-GENERATIONALLY. They met together GEOGRAPHICALLY, so we encourage people to find the House Church located closest to their home. They met each other's needs, so we MEET OTHERS NEEDS within House Church, not another benevolent model. They studied the Scriptures, so we have SCRIPTURE-BASED STUDY. House Church is our primary vehicle for discipleship and community at Church Project. House Church is the primary context where people will be known by others. House Church is what keeps our church community intimate and organic. We encourage you to find the House Church that is closest to you geographically, and connect with the pastor and/or host via phone or email. They will give you directions to their house, and answer any other questions you may have concerning House Church. Or, feel free to just show up at the times shown. You're already invited, so no need to RSVP. House Churches gather weekly on Wednesdays (except for First Wednesdays). A typical House Church gathering will include a casual time of snacks and getting to know others, a Bible study and discussion, and prayer for one another. As in Acts 2:24-27, House Church will be the epicenter of: - teaching and discipleship - discovering our gifts and serving, - encouragement, friendship and accountability - meeting each other’s needsprayer for one another The 1st century church that we read about in the Scriptures met in the temple courts and other large gathering spaces, but they also met from house to house in their own communities. In these homes they taught, loved, and served one another, and enjoyed life together. We want our House Church to be a place of discipleship, community, and ministry among the villages and neighborhoods within The Woodlands and the surrounding areas. Each House Church is carefully selected and led by a qualified, trained, accountable pastor from Church Project who oversees the teaching, leadership, and care of each individual in their House Church. Church Project is continually looking, praying, and planning to start other House Churches in strategic locations, with strong, qualified leadership. House Churches meet in houses throughout our communities each Wednesday (except First Wednesdays), 6:30PM-8:30PM.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Our atmosphere is casual, safe, and friendly. Come and be yourself, be relaxed knowing that you won't have attention drawn to you in any way, and meet people who are glad that you are there. If you're SEARCHING to know who Christ is, and wanting to search in an authentic community who seek to live in love and truth, this may be the church for you. If you’re hoping to find a church that is BIBLICAL, seeks to study and expose the full truths of Scripture, this may be the church for you. If you’re interested in a church that is SIMPLE, not trying to impress or entertain anyone with buildings, budgets, or programming, Church Project may be the church for you. If you’re looking for a church that is RELEVANT, understands and relates to people regardless of past, present, or place in life, Church Project may be for you.
