What people say about Epiphany Catholic Church

  • I loved going there as a child. I would go with my grandparents every Sunday in the summers I spent with them and my father. My father was ill and father Joe and father Tim would make sure he still had sacrament. My grandmother would sometimes make the bread that the priests would bless.
Growing up in AZ part time we didn't really go to catholic church we went to a a unity church that was Christian based However, we didn't really talk about Jesus all to much. Looking back I think I was about 12 maybe 13 but I went to a week of Bible study where we learned to make candles and weave yarn and meet new friends. I had always felt comfort and peace at epiphany. Father Joe and father Tim would lead mass and I didn't always understand what they meant and at times were confused because of my parents conflicting views and my age. However, I always felt peace there in the church and felt a sense of belonging. Although I never received my first communion, My grandfather still insisted that it's OK and I can take the holly sacrament and come to church and pray just like my other cousins whose parents raised them in the church. I loved my grandparents. I felt safe 🙏 I think I lost my way at 13. Because, I was torn in so many ways. My most favorite memory was when we sang hyms and seeing my grandma cut loose alittle and smile made me happy. The drive from my grandparents to the church where my grandpa would play classical music that would go with the car going down the curvey roads and across the train tracks. I would feel happy to feel that little bit of normalcy in my very unsettling life. Thankyou Epiphany for those memories.
