Dennis Martens

Dennis Martens

Pastor Martens grew up in Des Moines and has spent his entire life in Iowa District West. He is 57 years old. His wife of 21 years and best friend is Margaret. He has two grown children, David and Amy. Pastor Dennis attended the University of Iowa and graduated from Upper Iowa University with a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing in 1988. He felt called to ordained ministry all his adult life; He completed his studies at Concordia Seminary in May of 2007 and in June he began his convertible vicarage at Christ Lutheran Church – Remsen. The following year this congregation extended a call to him, and he was ordained at Christ Lutheran Church on June 22, 2008. , Pastor Martens loves being involved in the Remsen community. He serves on the board of the Remsen Chamber of Commerce. He says his involvement in the community has enabled him to meet people who are not members of his congregation, and has opened doors to those looking for a church home – a place to confess, profess, and grow in the Lord. He serves Christ Lutheran as the sole pastor.
