    Dr. George Saint Anthony Ferguson, Sr. was born in Charleston, SC. He is the second of four children born to Deas. Kathleen Ferguson and the late Dea. William Ferguson. He attended the public schools of Charleston and graduated from Charles A. Brown High School with honors. He graduated from Duke University, Durham, NC earning the Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Chemistry; the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO earning the Master of Business Administration degree in Quantitative Analysis; and United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH earning both the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry degrees in Theology. His doctoral thesis and book are entitled Stewardship and Discipleship Development in the African American Church. His mentor was Dr. Edward L. Wheeler, President of Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Ferguson was saved and baptized at Eastside Baptist Church, Charleston, SC. He is a licensed and ordained minister with over 26 years in the ministry and 17 years in the pastorate. He has been an Associate Minister at Mt. Olive Baptist Church - Dr. Norman L. Robinson, Senior Pastor, Arlington, TX and Metropolitan Baptist Church - Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., Senior Pastor, Washington, DC. He was a Youth Pastor at Grace Baptist Church, Dayton, OH, Rev. Charles Strong, Pastor and an Associate Minister and Master Sunday School teacher at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Dr. Donald Thompson, Pastor, Dayton, OH. He was the Founder and Pastor of Christ Creative Baptist Church (CCBC), Largo, MD. Dr. Ferguson was the 18th Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Charleston, SC. He was the Founder and Pastor of the Christ Community Church, North Charleston, SC. He is a Certified Seminary Extension Instructor (CSEI) of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is a member of the international prison ministry, Kairos Prison Ministry International, Winter Park, FL. He was selected as the second President of the Faith Fellowship Ministries International Biblical Institute, Washington, DC, of the Faith Fellowship Ministries International, Bishop Joseph Taylor, Presiding Prelate. He was the Professor of Theology at Canaan Bible College, Canaan Baptist Church, North Charleston, SC. Dr. Ferguson was the 2010 Canaan Bible College Professor of the Year. In 2012, Dr. Ferguson resumed his position as Pastor of Christ Creative Baptist Church. In 2013, Christ Creative Baptist Church purchased its new campus at 5201 S. Barnaby Road, Temple Hills, MD 20748. He has been a United States Air Force officer, a United States Army Reserve Chaplain (Captain), and has been employed by several private defense contractors. He is a Contracts Manager at Force Protection Industries, Inc. a defense contractor headquartered in Ladson, SC. He is a Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) of the National Contract Management Association. Dr. Ferguson is married to the lovely Lawan Denise Shaw Ferguson, a graduate of Charleston Southern University, Charleston, SC. She is employed at Strayer University, Charleston, SC and earning her Master of Business Administration degree at Strayer. He is the father of two children - George, II, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a senior at Bowie State University, Bowie, MD and Candice a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the American University, Washington College of Law, Washington, DC. Dr. Ferguson is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and a 32nd Degree Prince Hall Mason and Shriner. Dr. Ferguson has written several religious articles that have appeared in The Washington Post, The Prince George's Journal, The Prince George's Post, The Post and Courier, and the Charleston Chronicle. His favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.” THE GREATEST THING IN HIS LIFE IS BEING A CHILD OF GOD.
