Who We Are

We are a growing, dynamic, and diverse congregation, with liturgy, music and fellowship that offer opportunities for our congregation to explore their faith through worship and through outreach. In addition to our Sunday worship services (one of which is outside in the summer), we offer a meditative Labyrinth Walk & Compline on Wednesday evenings, a kidzone in the church for young families, Theology on Tap (at a local bar & grill), and so many more ways to explore one's faith and grow in relationship to God.

Our Services

What are services like?
Depends on which service (Last Chance Mass is interactive, small and casual, Sunday Eucharist is traditional, casual, and friendly, etc.), but generally they are traditional Rite II Episcopal services with engaging preaching, great music (at the main service on Sundays), and unique opportunities for spiritual growth (Labyrinth Walk on Wednesdays with meditative chant followed by Compline, or Last Chance Mass...on the Grass - an outdoor Sunday worship service, or Joyful Noise! - an interactive service for little ones).

What is the community like?
We are a Believe Out Loud Community (LGBT justice seeking), fully Handicap Accessible, multi-generational, and kid-friendly on Sundays (we have a play pen in the church and a rocker for a parent with a baby, and our Joyful Noise! service is interactive and fun for those under 7).

What if I'm not a Christian?
All are welcome here. Come and explore - ask questions - challenge assumptions (yours and ours).

Rev. Diana Wilcox

The Rev. Diana Wilcox is the 21st Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, and began serving here in January of 2014. In addition to her focus on social justice and outreach, Diana, or Pastor D as the children call her, is an energetic preacher with experience in developing youth groups and programs for young children, as well as in developing spiritual enrichment opportunities for adults. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Drew University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Diana also serves as the Protestant Chaplain at Montclair State University, where she leads worship services, provides pastoral care, and develops and leads programs for students, staff and faculty. In her past professional life, she had worked in the Information Technology management field for over 20 years, her last position as the Vice President for Open Systems Engineering and Global Program Management for AIG. Prior to her work at AIG, she was a management consultant for CSC Consulting, working with large multi-nationals. Diana also produces videos, including a documentary short, “Sister Jane’s Children,” about the Good Shepherd Home in Cameroon. That video is currently used by the Community of St. John Baptist, and other sponsoring churches, to raise awareness and money for the orphanage. She also produced for the Diocese of Newark “Living the Gospel Together,” about the diocesan relationship with the Diocese of Panama, leading to 17 congregations committing to traveling to Panama and developing relationships with churches there. She was recently elected by the Diocesan Convention to serve as a Deputy to the General Convention of The Episcopal Church in 2015, serves on Diocesan Council, on the Good Shepherd Home Board, and several other community organizations. Though born in Long Island, Diana grew up in Maryland, where most of her family still lives. This probably explains why she is both a devoted Redskins and Mets fan. She enjoys painting, golf, good friends, good food, good wine, and good humor (no, not the ice cream – although she says that’s good too). She lives in Sussex County with her large tuxedo cat, Humphrey Bogart Willoughby, aka. Bogart, whose cattitude knows no bounds.
