  • Dean Oliver

The story of how Dean Oliver and Brookwood came together is one that only God could write. In August 2005, Brookwood called Dean to serve as the Interim Worship Pastor. Within months, Dean and the church felt a mutual leading from God to make their relationship permanent, and he came on board as full-time Worship Pastor. He served in that position for 2 years, as well as being Church Administrator during 2 pastoral interim periods, until September 2007 when the church called him to become Senior Pastor. Dean was born and raised in Buford, GA. After graduating from Buford High School, he attended the University of Georgia for 3 years before transferring to and then graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He later graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, with a Master’s Degree in Theology. Dean met and married his wife, Robine, while serving a church in Mississippi. They have a son, Evan, and a daughter, Jenna. Dean and Robine have served in many states and in many positions, but Dean has said, “Our years at Brookwood have been, without question, the most enjoyable and effective years of our ministry. We are so excited that God has allowed us this opportunity to lead and serve these wonderful people. We believe God is going to bless our relationship with Brookwood for many years to come!” In addition to serving Brookwood, in his free time Dean enjoys reading, writing (songs, dramas, books), movies, sports, working out, eating out, politics, public speaking, any time spent with family, any time spent in the mountains, and last, but certainly not least, NASCAR. Dean says you’ll have to visit Brookwood and meet him personally in order to find out who his favorite driver is. Dean thinks that will make people come in droves. Dean is funny sometimes.
