This was a Disciples of Christ church.
Baptism was performed at 12 by immersion.
It was a very liberal, yet traditional church. There was an organ played by Pauline Osterling, who was also my piano teacher. I made many friends there, and many are friends at least on Facebook today. -
This church was my family's life. We attended Sunday service, youth group, committees, Sunday School, and potluck dinners all of my growing up years. I grew up in this church. My mother, Lucy Wynona Richardson Leber grew up in this church and was married here. She and my father, John Charles Leber, were members for all our our school years. My grandparents, Lucy and John Richardson, were longtime members.
