What people say about Atlantic Boulevard Baptist Church

  • When my family moved to Dibble Circle, our mother, Margie Isbell, my brother, Michael Isbell, and baby sister, Susan Isbell Martin. In 1960, we began attending what was then Brookview Baptist church. Brother Johnson was the pastor and Hendricks Baptist church sponsored the church as a mission. I was 14 and I accepted Christ as My Saviour. My Mother also accepted, as did my younger brother. My Dad stayed home with the baby as he was uninterested in the church. When the church grow an addition was built. My father was an electrician, and agreed to wire the building with the pastor as his helper. Working shoulder to shoulder my Daddy saw him as person of truth, and a witness for Christ. He accepted Christ was baptized. My husband started attending when his Mother moved into the neighborhood. We were married in the church as was my brother and his wife. My Daddy died 32 years ago, and my Mother died two years ago. I started thinking about the past and how our family had been blessed because Jesus was in this small church.
