CORE BELIEFS
We believe, confess, and teach that salvation is ours solely by the grace of God, undeserved, through faith in Jesus Christ. We hold the Bible as the completely true, inspired Word of God, the only source and authority for Christian faith and life. As Lutherans we trace our roots, not only back to the Reformation of the sixteenth century, but to the Christians of the time of Jesus Christ, for we believe and teach what Jesus taught his disciples, as found recorded in the Bible. We are called Lutherans because we believe that the documented confessions developed by Martin Luther and his associates during the Reformation accurately confess God's Word as found in Holy Scriptures. We are members of Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS)

What to Expect

What are services like?
A typical service includes hymns and songs, readings from the Bible, a children’s message, a sermon, songs of praise, prayers, an offering, and on the first and third Sundays, the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Each week the service is printed in the worship folder that includes the outline of the service along with announcements of what's going on during the week . We have screens that project all the music, readings, and responses. Visitors find our services inspirational, meaningful to their daily lives, and easy to follow. We think you will too.

What is the community like?
The high point of each week for the people of Ascension is when we gather together to worship our Lord Jesus. The liturgy, or worship structure, is a blended style, following a traditional format yet including many contemporary songs. Our worship is accompanied by a variety of musical instruments. Blended worship combines the richness of traditional worship and Lutheran hymns with more contemporary music with meaningful lyrics.
