About Us

Jesus Prayer Mission

Asbury is a group of diverse individuals, different in many ways, but united under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. We come from many different parts of the country (and beyond), have great variety in our backgrounds and interests, and even differences in the worship styles which are most meaningful to us, but we dwell together as one Body, with Jesus as our head. We are all imperfect in many ways, but are committed to being people who are becoming more faithful as disciples of Jesus Christ. Toward that end, we seek to be people who place a great priority in our relationship with God, with each other, and with those outside our walls. We are dedicated to being people of prayer and worship as we seek to know Jesus, be built up in Him, and discern His leading for our lives. We also are committed to being on mission with God, both close to home and throughout the whole world. That is, we desire to be obedient as God sends us out as His hands and feet, His ambassadors in the world. We recognize that faithful Christian discipleship involves both personal intimacy with God, and faithful service in the world. To that end we are determined to know Christ and to make Him known, recognizing that He is the One who invites us in, equips us, sends us out, and goes with us as we go. We seek to be Biblical in our beliefs, passionate in our worship, and sacrificial in our living. It is our serious and sincere desire to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love others as we love ourselves.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Contemporary Worship...it's about inviting the Holy Spirit to join with us as we magnify His Name. It's about equipping and encouraging others in glorifying their Father. It's about preserving a Holy Ground where people are free to surrender their all to the Father Who loves them. It's about Jesus and nothing more! When we gather together to worship Christ, He is present, and amazing things happen. Hearts are opened, lives are healed, and joy is experienced. Together, we seek to focus on Jesus, discover Who He is and what He would speak into our lives. Our services are in our Grace Building located on Gillespie Road. The service is scheduled to last 1 hour and 15 minutes. Through multimedia, visual arts, reflection, testimonies, prayer, contemporary music and the ageless wisdom of the Scriptures, we experience the love of God. The altars are open for those who wish to bring their cares and thanksgiving to the Lord. Trained Altar Prayer Partners are available to pray with you, or you may choose to pray alone. From time to time, words of testimony are shared, which encourage participants in their own faith journeys. Through these meaningful services, our hearts begin to grow bigger toward God and others. We hope you will come and find out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Greeters are available, before and after the services, in the Guest Information Center to answer questions and equip you with more information about Asbury. They can also direct you to our nursery in the Grace Building and children's classes in the Hope and Grace Buildings. Traditional Worship is ever evolving at Asbury as we discover more clearly who God is, and who we are called to be. Through thought-provoking messages, ageless wisdom of Scripture, and prayer, we celebrate the love of God. We strive for all liturgical celebrations at Asbury’s to be Spirit‐led and Christ‐centered. You will be warmly welcomed by those seated around you and will find Asbury to be alive in worship and in witness. Our worship gives voice to the love of God through musical offerings and visual arts utilizing diverse liturgical elements. We are a church open to all people regardless of background or denominational heritage. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of most months. The table is prepared and all are welcome. We gladly offer two convenient gathering times for all who wish to join us in worship. Join us at 8:45 am or 10:30 am in the Sanctuary. Greeters are available, before and after the services, in the Guest Information Areas to answer questions and provide you with more information about Asbury. They can also direct you to our nursery and children's classes in the Hope and Grace Buildings.

What is the community like?
Family friendly, mission driven, love God, love others.

What if I'm not a Christian?
That's okay. We don't hold that against you. Please come and check us out.
