What people say about Apostles Church NYC (Union Square)

  • It has the perfect mixture of tradition and structure with a relaxed environment and beautiful, contemporary music. The sermons are fantastic and I always leave church feeling refreshed.

  • Music can certainly create a worshipful mood and the worship team here is intense enough to break the walls that the world builds around us here in NYC.

  • The Apostles Church Union Square congregation is made up of mostly graduate age and career age folks, however, there is a growing demographic - the young families, dads, moms, and children. After arriving there along with my wife and 3 year old son nearly four months ago, Apostles USQ has done a phenomenal job at receiving well, with love, kindness, and despite their lack of children's ministry at that time, care for our son.Community is great, and the overall worship experience is inviting and heart satisfying. Pastor JR Vassar brings a sound and biblical word that is challenging and direct to the heart. He does a exceptional job of presenting to the house material to grow in knowledge but then practical ways to grow in spirit and character. Apostle elders are great. They are young but feels as though they they've been ripped right out from the descriptions in both 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 3.My suggestions? For a worship experience that is catalyzed by the reality of \one another\"

  • I call this the younger version of Redeemer. The preaching is so solid; I take more notes than I can manage on my iPhone. And while there are invocations, blessings, and other elements of traditional services, the music is passionate and worshipful. The voices in the worship band are....... yeah. Just awesome. The congregation of this night service is pretty young and doesn't have many families, but I recommend it regardless.

  • I listened to a Pastor Vassar's post 9-11 sermon, and it really blew me away. I'd recommend anyone interested in great teaching to check out Apostles podcasts: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/apostles-church-nyc/id295858593
