    Curtis Cantrell

1975 was a turning point in Pastor Curtis Cantrell’s life. It was during the summer of that year, as a fifteen year old teenager, he trusted Christ as his personal Saviour, saving him from certain destruction. As a young man, he was mentored by godly men in the service of the Lord. Even at that early age, God was already directing his life and using others to influence him for the work of the ministry. In 1981, Pastor Cantrell joined the US Navy. Over the course of his 20 year career in the Navy, he was deployed on board the USS John F. Kennedy, and the USS George Washington, and the USS John C. Stennis. While aboard, Pastor Cantrell acted as the Baptist lay leader and would often proclaimed the word of God in the ship’s chapel for the crew. Pastor Cantrell retired from distinguished Naval service with honours in May, 2001. Sensing God's call to ministry, Pastor Cantrell enrolled at the Tabernacle Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Virginia Beach, Va. where he started his formal training for the ministry. Later, he studied at Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana concentrating in pastoral ministries. After years of preparation and faithfully ministering in the local church, Pastor Cantrell was called by God to establish Abundant Harvest Baptist in 2011. Today, he is sharing the vision of a Bible believing Baptist church being planted in St. Marys, Ga. His heart and passion for God are evident in his desire to introduce others to Christ and seeing them grow in their relationship with God. Pastor Cantrell’s heartbeat is that of a pastor. He loves the church and the community. His vision is to develop a local church that has a close-knit family atmosphere and a passion for serving people. His vision entails a local church where the focus is on strengthening relationships and spreading the good new that Jesus heals broken lives. The purpose of Abundant Harvest Baptist is “To know Christ and to make Him known as we grow together and serve others.” Curtis Cantrell is married to the former Che Normandin of Southbridge, Massachusetts. She is his partner in marriage and ministry. Together, they are joined to do God's work.
