“The bottom line is that we do well among people who take their faith seriously, and as you know, just like some Protestants are not churchgoing, they are folks who identify with a particular religion but don’t necessarily practice that from the standpoint of going to church and the like.”

-Rick Santorum, on why he hasn’t received overwhelming support from fellow Catholics.

I took my Catholicism seriously and then I decided to look outside the “bible bun”.

A summary of what I found:

    • There was probably no Abraham i.e. the foundations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are non-existent.

    • There was probably no Moses i.e the pillars of Judaism, Christianity and Islam have no strength of purpose.

    • There was no Gabriel i.e. Islam fails as a religion. Christianity partially fails.

    • There was no Easter i.e. Christianity completely fails as a religion.

    • There was no Moroni i.e. Mormonism is nothing more than a business cult.

    • Sacred/revered cows, monkey gods, castes, reincarnations and therefore Hinduism fails as a religion.

    • Fat Buddhas here, skinny Buddhas there, reincarnated Buddhas everywhere makes for a no on Buddhism.

Supporting references are available upon request.

A quick search will put the kibosh on any other groups calling themselves a religion.

    e.g. Taoism

“The origins of Taoism are unclear. Traditionally, Lao-tzu who lived in the sixth century is regarded as its founder. Its early philosophic foundations and its later beliefs and rituals are two completely different ways of life. Today (1982) Taoism claims 31,286,000 followers.

Legend says that Lao-tzu was immaculately conceived by a shooting star; carried in his mother’s womb for eighty-two years; and born a full grown wise old man. “

No Rick, you only do well when you have an abundance of antiMorman Evangelist behind you!! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE HATRED

  • susanbsbi1

Santorum just hang it up your not getting the nomination. They want a president and not a preacher

  • Jdanner46

Santorum does well with the pick and choose faux religious. Rick and his lot have no idea of the word of God, just their sick interpedtations. The make up things that Mae them look good and say hat is what God is saying. In the ancient times these fakes were called out by Paul in his letters. If Jesus walked up to Santorum, Rick would not have a clue who he was.

so Rick Santorum infers that fellow catholics obviously don’t take their faith seriously, otherwise how could they support the Mormon? Serious catholics ought to support Rick? Really? Really!? If you vote for someone else, you are not serious about your religion? I’m utterly shocked in America, that anyone would suggest such a thing.

So now we should vote based on religion? in America we should vote this way? A religious test, really? This is so appalling to me, so outrageous, why is the media doing etch-a-sketch stories when this comment ought to headline Drudge and lead cable news. It ought to end Santorum’s campaign dead in its tracks. Blaming the voters for his own failures for not taking their faith seriously? Seriously?!

I’m kind of at a loss for words. I’m not sure who he is to judge who takes their faith seriously. I am a Christian who goes to church on Wednesdays and Sundays every week and am very commited to my faith. I choose to vote for someone that is not arrogant and that is not a liar and a hypocrite. So I cannot vote for Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.

  • SODDI

Rick Santorum does well with bigoted crazy people who don’t mind lying as much as they mind black Presidents. Republicans.

  • kasjun1

Rick Santorum should not be portayed as a good Christian. Check out this video of his remarks from this video taken during primary of South Carolina.

  • kasjun1

Well I guess you can’t add links to video on this site, so if you search youtube for-Rick Santorum thinks killing of Iranian scientist is wonderful. Ask yourself if this looks like a good Christian. I’m Catholic and they don’t teach this in my church.

What else I found outside the “bible-bun”:
    - only for the newcomers-

AND THE INFAMOUS ANGELIC CONS CONTINUE TO WREAK STUPIDITY UPON THE WORLD

    Joe Smith had his Moroni.

“Latter-day Saints also believe that Michael the Archangel was Adam (the first man) when he was mortal, and Gabriel lived on the earth as Noah.”

    Jehovah Witnesses have their Jesus /Michael the archangel, the first angelic being created by God;

Mohammed had his Gabriel (this “tin-kerbell” got around).

Jesus and his family had Michael, Gabriel, and Satan, the latter being a modern day dem-on of the de-mented.

The Abraham-Moses myths had their Angel of Death and other “no-namers” to do their dirty work or other assorted duties.

Contemporary biblical and religious scholars have relegated these “pretty wingie thingies” to the myth pile. We should do the same to include deleting all references to them in our religious operating manuals. Doing this will eliminate the prophet/profit/prophecy status of these founders and put them where they belong as simple humans just like the rest of us.

So … is he saying that you don’t need to go to church to take your faith seriously? Because that actually is true.
