Welcome to the initial phase of On Faith/Local, which will be devoted to extending and deepening our coverage of religion and faith in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. On Faith/Local will provide a space for informative, constructive and civil discussion and engagement on matters of spiritual importance in the local community.

A partner to our national On Faith site, On Faith/Local will feature an ever-growing panel of more than 30 area religious leaders, representing a diverse spectrum of beliefs. Each week, members of this group will offer an essay with a spiritual take on a local issue, as well as share sermons they are delivering in their own places of worship.

On Faith/Local also will include a calendar of upcoming religious events in the area, and will feature religions blogs from around the region.

We hope our readers will join the conversation by commenting on what our panelists have to say, offering their own opinions and suggesting topics for future discussions. Also, please feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions at [email protected]
