About Us

Landmark Building, Living Faith

The Church of the Incarnation is a lively, growing multicultural Episcopal Parish in midtown Manhattan.

We are focused on living out our faith with careful reflection, passion, and conviction.

The congregation reflects the diversity of the Murray Hill neighborhood and the New York metropolitan area from which it is drawn. Worship, intellectual exploration and practical application of Christian principles are especially valued by Incarnation's members. The Incarnation family invites you to visit its landmark building and experience the living faith that has sustained this community for 150 years. Please join us!

What to Expect

What are services like?
The central activity that unites us at Incarnation is the worship of God through prayer, music, Scripture and the sharing of the Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion). Beautiful music, traditional language, and the art-filled space in which we worship create a sense of sacred space and time. Incarnation also places a high priority on preaching that connects the Biblical text with everyday life.

What is the community like?
The people of Incarnation genuinely care for one another and enjoy being together. We come from all over the city (though there is a critical mass from the neighborhood), from all ages, races, and walks of life. You'll notice a large number of 20s/30s. We aren't a pushy bunch, but we will welcome you with open arms.

What if I'm not a Christian?
All persons, of whatever faith, are invited to our worship services, and will find a genuine welcome. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion - but all are invited to learn more about the Christian faith.
