About Us

Serving the the people of South Jamaica since 1904

Very down to the earth, community and gospel-based church. If you are not perfect, you will fit right in with us...

Our Services

Sunday
09:00am
Gospel Mass in English
10:45am
Mass in Polish

What to Expect

What are services like?
9 AM is a gospel Mass. Expect high energy, dance and hand-clapping. Preaching is gospel-based. Services are inclusive, all are welcome, no matter who you are. 10:45 AM is a Mass in Polish. Music tends to incorporate the old and the new. Preaching is gospel-based, not bashing or guilt-building. Old generations find a lot for themselves; new generations will find in our church an alternative to the same-old, same-old

What is the community like?
Small, personal and direct. We all use first names to recognize who we are. You will feel at our church at home and very familial.

What if I'm not a Christian?
So what? We are not in the saving souls business, but in sharing what we can business. Who are we to judge you?

St. Joseph is family friendly. I have been a member of this Parish since 2007 when I moved to Jamaica, however, I subsequently returned to Brooklyn but remained a member of St. Joseph. One must worship where their heart is, and the only way they can do this is to find their way there and have a spiritual connection. Distance has never been a problem, because there is no distance between the the love of God for his children. There are always great surprises for newcomers; the big question they often ask "is this a Catholic Church?" simply because of the open and welcoming connection, although very reverend and within character, but there is "something" which cannot be explained, but only experienced. In my 9 years at St. Joseph I have first-handedly witnessed its growth from just a handful to a flourishing congregation under the spiritual guidance, and shepherd by our own Fr. Chris. He is never too busy to speak with members or visitors alike. He is greatly respected and equally loved by both the North American, South American, Caribbean and African diverse community and that of the Polish community also. We have great activities all year round. We are currently forming our own Steel Pan Choir group, there are many, many more attractive activities in our planning calendar, as a new member or visitor we do welcome you to bring your hearts and skills, and be a part of St. Joseph's community.
