Bethany Memorial Reformed Church
We are a community composed of people who come from diverse cultures and walks of life. We represent different professions and speak different languages. In spite of all of the things that make us different, we come together to experience the love of God through Jesus Christ for all people. Christian Theologian, Paul Tillich asserts, that life poses many questions to all people and that the word of God is able to provide an answer to these questions. In the Tillichian spirit we strive to seek answers to questions that life raises through careful study and explanation of God's word. We do not attempt to tell people how to live, but rather, we present the gospel in a way that it is relevant, understandable, and applicable to daily living.

Bethany is a well kept secret on the upper east side. The congregation is diverse and quickly becomes like a second family. The Pastor is inspiring (never boring!) and the music is fantastic. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!
I am a teenager who has practically grown up in this church. My experience here has changed my life - it has made ny relationship with God stronger and has given be a firm path. Our Youth Minister, Jeremy, has taught us so much since he came to Bethany. We have youth worship on Sunday mornings and I really love this time. He is helping us to form a praise band and working with us on the drums and guitar. It is a small church but I know God has plans for us to grow. We also have a Homework Help program which has helped me a lot, especially with math. It is great to have a church home like this in New York City!
I came to this Church 15 years ago through Vacation Bible School and have never left!! My children have grown up in this church family (one is now in college) and have all grown in Christ through our Church life - the services, Pastor's sermons, youth group, Band practices and fellowship.
We have recently been blessed with a new Youth Minister and a new Music Director so along with the leadership of our Pastor we can truly feel God's spirit working in our midst.
Bethany is a wonderful place. It is small with a homey feel. The music is absolutely wonderful. The messages are Biblical, thought provoking, and hit home. It is a great place to be on a Sunday Morning at 9a.m.
