  • I was baptized at Woodland Baptist Church (formerly Valley Grove) in 1954 by Jack Ayers. I was blessed to have teachers like Joe, and his sister, Jean Hendricks, and Fannie Mae Slaughter. They became my "enlightened voices" along with "Miss Betty Hendricks at Woodland School.
