Reading City Church

About Us

Life from brokenness.

RCC is a new church that was launched in 2010. We are a fast growing missionally-minded & relational congregation that meets at the IMAX theater in the city of Reading. Our gatherings include passionate worship and preaching with plenty of time to meet some new people around homemade baked goods & coffee. Fun & interactive Nursery, Preschool and Kidz Church ministries are available and all learn from the same portion of scripture as the adults. The same is true for our teen ministry that meets on Wed evenings.

As a church, we seek to be: Biblically grounded, Educational in the person & mission of Jesus, Committed in relationships, Experimental in practice and Transformational in the city.

What to Expect

What are services like?
After you park your car in the garage parking (free on Sundays), you'll walk across the street to the IMAX theater. As soon as you walk in the doors, you will be greeted by friendly people that will answer any questions you may have. The foyer will be filled with people eating and drinking. Feel free to work your way over to the baked goods and coffee table. Nursery and preschool children can be dropped off starting at 9:45. At 10, everyone makes their way back to the main theater in which we will open with a time of musical worship, then announcements followed by the dismissal of children for "RCC Kidz" church and a 10 minute intermission for more coffee, food and relational time. After the intermission, Pastor Vince or one of the other elders or congregation members will preach a message which is the center piece of our gatherings. After the message, there will be a few moments to reflect/respond and then dismissal.

What is the community like?
Our largest age category is college-age, with the second being young families with children and the third most being baby boomers.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You would not be alone. RCC attracts non-believers who are curious about the Bible and Christianity. We are real and honest about our short-comings, the intellectual challenges of the Bible and the time & struggle it takes for people to come to a decision of faith. We consider ourselves to be learners of what it means to be a follower of Jesus and even though there are some things we are sure about, we do not pretend to have all the answers. Beyond this, you will find the people of RCC to be relational, warm and accepting. If you have a question about the Christian faith, feel free to send an email to our contact information.
