What are services like?
Services are holistic. The music, Scripture, sermon, prayers, and video images all work in unison to help convey the week's message. We use projection and a system that sends signals to cellphones as well--scripture readings, meeting dates, contact info, etc. Because we are multigenerational, we use a blend of hymns, contemporary secular music, some contemporary Christian music, jazz, pop, rock, etc. in our service. Everything is played by a five or six piece band of professional musicians. It's an awesome service that is challenging intellectually. Our pastor uses contemporary methods of Biblical scholarship to provide a historical context to scripture, deepening our ability to understand the real, spiritual meaning of the Bible for our postmodern era.

What is the community like?
The congregation is warm and welcoming. FCC Naples has an amazing Care Team ministry. An active Christian Education program every Sunday before church discusses a current event through the lenses of faith and scripture. Conversations are lively and challenging. This congregation is not afraid to think about and discuss deep questions. They are comfortable coming to different conclusions in respectful and loving ways. Members of our congregation have diverse views about the meaning of faith, the nature of God, the nature of Jesus and the meaning of the Christ. But rather than dividing us, the conversations are blessings of spiritual and intellectual growth for all the members of the congregation.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Come on in! We also like to consider Christianity in the context of a pluralistic world, where we understand there are many paths to God and that the key to transforming the world lies in our acceptance of the fact we are all on individual spiritual journeys. We also understand that there is an absolute truth for all people of faith--Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs--there is a God that is active in the world and our lives. And in accord with even non-theistic philosophies like Buddhism, there is an active force in the universe with which we can connect that heightens our consciousness and transforms us into beings of sacrifice, love, compassion, and a thirst for justice and equality of all types--gender, economic, political and social.
