About Us

The mission of City Life Church is to invite new friends to encounter God’s grace, to connect with others, and to serve the people of the city.

City Life has been part of the Sacramento community since 2007, worshipping in different parts of Midtown. In 2013, we began worshipping at the Sol Collective on 21st Street.

Every week, our tight-knit congregation meets to sing hymns, participate in the 'work of the people' (i.e. liturgy), study the Scriptures, and share in the great feast of the Eucharist, given to us by Jesus.

Our children's church meets next door at the Capcity coworking office. We also have small groups and other avenues for faith formation throughout the week.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are about an hour and fifteen minutes and follow the same 'ordo' every week: call to worship, confession of sin, declaration of our forgiveness in Christ, meet-and-greet, scripture reading and sermon, offering, the Lord's Supper, and the sending. Very predictable. While we have seen visitors find strategic times to duck out, we invite you to stick around for the whole thing and see for yourself how worship begins to form you. It might surprise you!

What is the community like?
As churches tend to be, there are a lot of families with young children and single young professionals. We are glad with the community we have been given, but are eager to extend hospitality to people of all ages and walks of life.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We welcome you in the name of Christ! Every day, we make it clear that City Life is a place that is safe for doubts and uncertainties. You are given permission to participate in our worship to the degree you find authentic to yourself.
